How much does a MetaMizer Series II cost?

MediVac rents/leases the units to healthcare institutions in Australia so there is NO capital expenditure. The rental/lease amount is fixed for 6-7 years with no CPI (Australia only), inflation related or industry increases, i.e. a flat line cost for the duration of the rental/lease period and includes all standard maintenance.

What can I put in a MetaMizer Series II?

Any materials that would normally be classified for clinical waste removal including:
  • sharps
  • human and animal tissue samples
  • blood and body fluids
  • surgical and laboratory disposables
  • specimens, cultures.

How long does the process take?

A complete load from start to finish can be processed in 11-15 minutes

How much waste can a MetaMizer Series II process in a working day?

If running continuously for ten hours, the MetaMizer can handle 300-500 kilos of input waste dependant on the specific density of the waste.

Where does the treated waste go?

Output waste can be disposed of in any licensed landfill, together with general healthcare facility waste.

Do I need a purpose built area to house the MetaMizer?

No.

How big is the MetaMizer?

Dimensions: 2.0m long x 1.7m wide x 1.5m high

What are the installation requirements?

Installation must be undertaken by MediVac. In most cases the standard model requires a forklift to manoeuvre it into position. The device is modular allowing for assembly above ground level.

What utilities are needed to run the MetaMizer?

Electricity supply: 415 VAC three phase supply. A 50[A] 4 core + earth supply is recommended.
Water supply: Connection to mains via generic tap interface
Air conditioning: Recommended for tropical environments.
Connection to sewer: For treated sterile waste liquids to be discharged.

How much noise does it make?

The MetaMizer’s noise output is less than 60 db in normal operation. This is less than the noise level of an average domestic electric fan [or appropriate other domestic comparison].

Can I remotely monitor the MetaMizer?

Yes. One or multiple units can be monitored via an internet, phone or GPRS connection relaying up-to-date information at each stage of the process to your centralised monitoring facility.

Do I need to employ specialised staff to run the MetaMizer?

No. Your existing staff can be trained to use the MetaMizer in 1-2 hours.

What is involved in training staff to use the MetaMizer?

MetaMizer clinical waste removal training takes the form of a one-on-one or a small group session. This takes approximately 2 hours. Once your staff have attained suitable proficiency, they can run the machine without supervision.

What is the turn around time on repairs and maintenance?

A MediVac service technician can generally be on-site in metropolitan areas the next business day. In more remote areas a service technician can be on-site within 48 hours. Regular maintenance checks can be scheduled at a time convenient to your business.
